Our Trio's First Christmas

Christmas this year felt a little strange for Micah and me. This was the first year that we weren't with either of our parents on actual Christmas day. Now that we live in New Mexico and we don't live near any of our family, it is usually up to us to travel to see family and we didn't want to do that this year with the babies since we are worried about them getting sick. My parents did come out December 19, but they left on Christmas Eve morning so we celebrated Christmas with them on the 23rd. Micah's parents came out for the weekend of the babies baptism, but they left on December 22nd so we celebrated Christmas with them on the 21st.

Originally we thought we could start our own Christmas day traditions as a family but sadly I was a little sick (sore throat thing...maybe a cold?) so I didn't even make it to the grocery store to buy food for a meal, and I definitely wasn't up for the hike we had talked about doing. We did Skype with my family for a few minutes to open the gifts we had exchanged, but those were really the only gifts we opened that day as Micah and I decided not to buy much for the babies this year as we don't have a lot of room for stuff in our current rental house and our family bought them plenty of Christmas gifts. Oh well, at least we had a great time with our family before actual Christmas day and we know that in the future we definitely need to be with our family to make the holiday a bit more memorable.

Another option for our Christmas card that we didn't use
